Community Assets

There are many reasons why I consider the Montclair area very special. Only twelve miles from New York City, Montclair and its surrounding communities combine the best of small town life with easy access to one of the world's most exciting cities. Most of our homes are Pre-War, and truly do run the gamut from cottage to castle -- from a simple Cape or side hall Colonial to palatial estates. Our downtown areas are historic yet offer 21st century amenities. You can find a first run foreign film or a Hollywood blockbuster, eat gourmet meals, sushi, crepes, or hamburgers and fries, buy organic groceries or brand name potato chips, tour a recently expanded Art Museum run by a former MOMA curator, go to local plays and concerts in the park, shop for antiques, books, gifts. We don't have any malls [which most of us see as a blessing], but easy access to the Garden State Parkway, Routes 3 and 46 will get you to Short Hills, Willowbrook or Paramus in twenty to thirty minutes. Highly rated public school systems and private schools offer a wide choice of educational and extra curricular opportunities. You don't want to cross our girl's soccer teams !!

Yes, you will have to drive a car with Jersey plates if you want to live here. But that's a small price to pay to live in a community of such amazing diversity so close to Manhattan.
